Your Privacy is Our Priority
Last updated: August 2026. This policy explains how Tools That Help handles your data (spoiler: we don't collect any).
What Data We Collect
Tools That Help collects no personal data. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, email, or contact information.
- We do not store files you upload or process through our tools.
- We do not track your activity across pages or sessions.
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
- We do not require account creation or authentication.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences:
- Theme preference (Dark or Light mode) — stored locally so your choice persists across visits.
- Recently used tools — stored locally to display shortcuts on the home page.
This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser's site data.
Data Security
Since all processing happens client-side inside your browser:
- PDF merging, splitting, and editing — done entirely in your browser using PDF-lib.
- Encryption and hashing — processed by CryptoJS running locally.
- All other text, math, and code operations — 100% browser-side JavaScript.
No data traverses a network connection during tool usage.
Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies
We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on our website. To ensure full compliance and transparency regarding advertising practices, please note the following:
- Third-Party Vendors & Advertising Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Tools That Help or other websites across the internet.
- Personalized Advertising: Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve personalized advertisements to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opting Out of Personalized Ads: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- If you have not opted out of third-party ad serving, cookies of other third-party ad networks or vendors may also be used to serve advertisements on our site.
